"Brew For The Few" Tuesday 15 September 2009

I spent an interesting three hours at the airport on Tuesday; thanks to the kindness of Peel for hosting the event, attending the "Brew For The Few" function that was held there. The get together was organised by the Doncaster branch of RAFA to commemorate the Battle Of Britain, it was held in the waiting area for gate five and was very well attended, probably two hundred plus, a NAFFI stall provided drinks and cake and there was a film and commentary running remembering the Battle of Britain.
I met many old RAF and civie friends including a past station commander Gp Cpt. Alan Tolhurst and Sqn. Ldr. Derek Exley who was the station community relations officer and who I worked closely with when providing communications for the Air displays, there were also representatives there from FODSA.
Unfortunately I was unable to stay for the evening "Sunset" service due to a previous commitment, an enjoyable afternoon and I hope the event will be repeated again next year. A few pictures below, sorry about the quality of some of them.
